Hi December! What This Week Taught Me About Growth and Vulnerability

Your Dose of Weekly Wellness

Dear Reader

These last two weeks have stretched me in ways I didn’t expect. As I reflect on the 5-Day Owning Your Day Experience I just completed alongside Jovonnie from Empowered Plates Podcast, I realize how much collaboration and vulnerability have shaped me—not just as a business owner, but as a person.

When Jovonnie and I connected over a month ago to plan this experience, I was excited to share what I knew and to learn from her expertise in plant-based nutrition. But I underestimated the technical hurdles and how they would test my ability to adapt.

The Week That Stretched Me

Day 1 arrived, and I was already off balance. The long holiday weekend left me tired and out of my routine, and I hadn’t properly set up the streaming platform we planned to use. By Day 2, I managed to get the streaming going but realized the audio wasn’t where it needed to be. Finally, by Day 5, I had all my “ducks in a row,” streaming seamlessly with better sound.

That’s when it hit me: this experience mirrored so much of what my clients feel when they start their wellness journey. It’s overwhelming at first, and you might feel unprepared, but by showing up, learning, and letting go of perfection, you make progress.

Through this process, Jovonnie and I shared our struggles and our strengths. She taught me how to pair fruits and vegetables to create anti-inflammatory juices and meals, which helped me incorporate more plant-based options into my week. In turn, I guided her through safe strength-training techniques tailored to her joint hypermobility and chronic pain. We learned so much from each other by being open about where we were in our wellness journeys and trusting one another to help fill the gaps.

The Lessons Learned

This week taught me a few key lessons:

  1. It’s okay to ask for help. None of us have all the answers, and collaboration can create something even greater than what we’d accomplish alone.
  2. Growth comes from stepping outside your comfort zone. Whether it’s learning a new technology, a new recipe, or a new way of moving your body, every challenge is an opportunity.
  3. Progress isn’t perfect. You don’t have to get everything right on the first try. What matters is showing up consistently and learning as you go.

A Note of Gratitude

I want to take a moment to thank you, my community, for being part of this journey. Whether you’ve been here since the beginning or just joined, your support and engagement mean the world to me. It’s been a year of growth, change, and so many lessons, and I’m incredibly excited for what’s to come in 2025.

As we approach the final weeks of this year, I encourage you to take a moment to reflect on your own journey. Where have you grown? What have you learned? And most importantly, where can you give yourself a little more grace?

Thank you for being part of this movement. Let’s keep growing, learning, and supporting one another in the weeks ahead.

Wishing you strength, health, and joy as we close out this year,
